About the Gazette

This site showcases the work of New Media Journalism students at AUT University in Auckland, New Zealand. The New Media Journalism paper comprises students from year three of the Bachelor of Communication Studies and students from the Graduate Diploma in Journalism.

Assignments on the paper include an in-class group presentation on aspects of media convergence, new media journalism web-based reporting, a journalistic piece or essay and the creation of an eight-page ezine, all of which can be found here on the New Media Gazette. In addition, students must complete a portfolio of at least six web-based stories for CityBeat, the course blog. That work can be viewed here.
